About Us

KAFN came into being because the neighborhood needed it.  We are locally owned and founded by people who live in the neighborhood and those who once called it home.  A labor of love for community and passion for good coffee.

Hot Specialty Menu       Cold SPecialty Menu

Generally thicker than coffee brewed by other methods. Has a higher concentration of suspended and dissolved solids.

Made with espresso and steamed milk. The term as used in English is a shortened form of the Italian caffè latte, which means milk coffee.

Composed of espresso and hot milk, with the surface topped with foamed milk. Cream may be used instead of milk and is often topped with cinnamon.

Like a caffè latte, caffè mocha is based on espresso and hot milk, but blended with our serious chocolate for an intense but not-to-sweet beverage.

We have introduced nitrogen infused coffees and cold brewed coffees to our lineup.  The origins will change periodically and we are looking for a third variant to add to the mix.

Sometimes called espresso macchiato, is an espresso coffee drink with a small amount of milk, usually foamed. Has the highest ratio of espresso to milk.  The Cortado is similar, though with more liquid milk, rather like a very small and intense caffe latte.

serious Chocolate

Is to traditional hot chocolate as espresso is to American coffee. Served in smaller cups, rich and thick—for serious chocolate fans.

caramel LATTE

We make our own caramel in house with brown sugar, butter and cream.  Nothing artificial and you can taste the difference.

Hot tea brewed to order or iced tea made daily.  Choices vary so you will have to have a conversation with our baristas.

Hot chocolate

Our Serious Chocolate cut with steamed milk for a more traditional experience. Real whipped cream with a hint of vanilla is optional.

Another in house specialty made with matcha and ginger.  It packs a bit of a kick but is amazing and unlike the usual sweet drinks found elsewhere.

The Café

From a cultural standpoint, coffeehouses largely serve as centers of social interaction: the coffeehouse provides patrons with a place to talk, read, write, entertain one another, or pass the time, individually or in groups.

Seriously Fun

The coffee we serve is outstanding.  The creativity some of our baristas employ is remarkable.
